Workshop on Measurement and Simulation of Coal and Biomass Conversion “CBC”

International Workshop on Measurement and Simulation of Coal and Biomass Conversion “CBC”

The aim of this biannual international workshop series is to address all principal research needs behind the thermal conversion of solid fuel stocks, namely coal and biomass. Solidfuel conversion is a multi-physics problem consisting of turbulence, gas/solid fuel transport, heat transfer, devolatilisation, and homogeneous and heterogeneous chemical reactions. The workshop series is jointly organised by researchers from TU Darmstadt, University of Duisburg-Essen, University of Stuttgart, Cornell University, Sandia National Laboratories and Kyushu University. The series follows the example of the workshop on “Turbulent Non- Premixed Flames” (TNF), focuses on the fundamental science and relies on reliable experimental data, such that the progress in numerical modelling can be verified. For further details on the workshop series and upcoming events, please follow the link to CBC .
